Love Pains by Vanessa Zanella

An accumulation around the heart, love lingers
A tormenting weight around the neck, love lolls
Is it not better to love painfully than not at all,
Or has the old saying been grossly misquoted?
The mind is a tangled mass of firing nerve fibers
Clear thinking is a stranger to a lover's thoughts
Random patterns generate within the mind of one
So touched by the conflicting hands of lusty love
Swooning abounds, irrationality all the more so
One fact alone stands clear in the path of lovers
They are alive, longing to be one, a singularity
They mold together, indistinguishable and solid
Life for them stands still unless they are apart
Then the minutes are like hours, days are years
Obstacles, such as distance, torment and taunt
A phone line or a love letter ,a pale substitution
For in their harbors the waves of love are brimming,
They long to unite, It becomes their unending aim
The heart overcomes the distance, the mind cannot
