The last green leaf
In its' lonely crusade
Fights for survival
All alone - so brave
Remembering warmer weather
Being lost in the green crowd
Fierce the wind, yet still it holds
Not wanting to feel the ground
How bold this leaf
On a tree so bare
A solitary battle
It alone cares
Then one day, its' armour gone
Turning brown and growing old
It starts its' fall in silent defeat
To be swept away by the winds of
cold
